Twist Stocking
Twist Stocking is worked top down. Decreases for the heel are worked while knitting. The top is shaped with decreases in the round and the remaining stitches are pulled together. The Twist edge is worked as one long tube and attached to the stocking. Finally the stocking is felted in the washing machine.
Yarn: Vams PT3 by Rauma.
Amount of yarn: 4 skeins.
Size: One Size.
Measurements: Width (after felting): approx. 18 cm.
Gauge: Before felting: 16 sts in stockinette stitch on a 6 mm needle = 10 cm. After felting: 18 sts in stockinette stitch on a 6 mm needle = 10 cm.
Recommended needles: Circular needle 6 mm (40 cm), dpns 6 mm. Remember that the needle size is just a recommendation. Knit a gauge swatch first!
WATCH OUT! Felting is not an exact science and the result depends on several factors. Depending on which washing machine and/or which washing program is used or even with which other garments your work is washed, the result can vary.
