Felted Twist Mittens
The Felted Twist Mittens are worked top down. Stitches for the thumb are placed on hold while working. The mitten’s top is shaped with decreases on both sides and the remaining stitches are pulled together. The Twist edge is worked by knitting a tube, which is sewn together and then attached to the mitten. Finally, the mittens are felted in the washing machine for the desired result.
Yarn: Fritidsgarn from Sandnes Garn
Amount of yarn: 3 skeins (all sizes)
Sizes: S (M) L
Gauge: Before felting: 16 sts in stockinette stitch on needle 6 mm = 10 cm
Recommended needles: Double pointed needles 6 mm. Remember that the needle size is just a recommendation. Knit a gauge swatch first!
WATCH OUT! Felting is not an exact science and the result depends on several factors. Depending on which washing machine and/or which washing program is used or even with which other garments your work is washed, the result can vary.
