Curly Cuff Slippers

Curly Cuff Slippers

Curly cuff slippers are worked both in the round and back and forth in rows. You start at the heel and work your way to the top of the slipper. The top is shaped with decreases and the remaining stitches are pulled together. The curly cuff is worked by knitting a tube, which is sewn to the slipper after felting.

Yarn: Vams PT3 from Rauma or Fritidsgarn from Sandnes, together with Pillpi from Rauma or Alpaca Bouclé from Drops.
Amount of yarn: 3 skeins Vams PT3/Fritidsgarn (for all sizes) and 2 skeins Pillpi/Alpaca Bouclé.
Sizes: 35/36 (37/38) 39/40 (41/42).
Gauge: Single thread Vams PT3/Fritidsgarn before felting: 16 stitches in stockinette stitch on needle 6 mm = 10 cm. Double thread Pillpi/Alpaca Bouclé: 12 stitches in stockinette stitch on needle 6 mm = 10 cm.
Recommended needles: Double pointed needles 6 mm. Remember that the needle size is just a recommendation. Knit a gauge swatch first!

WATCH OUT! Felting is not an exact science and the result depends on several factors. Depending on which washing machine and/or which washing program is used or even with which other garments your work is washed, the result can vary.
